Citizenship

For our citizenship badge, we do community service - for example planting trees, raising money for a good cause, helping at the World Athletics Championships for athletes with a disability, cleaning up our local environment, packing bandannas for Canteen, fixing equipment at the scout hall. Many of our scouts help the community by helping their neighbours who are elderly or disabled, by volunteering in nursing homes or helping with activities their church organises.

Last year some scouts did the 40 hour famine to raise money for children in Laos. $40 feeds 8 kids for a month! Scouts went without food, sight (blindfold), furniture or electronics for 40 hours.

Check out the website for 40 hour famine.
