Hiking

Hikes we have done recently:

Nursery Swamp (10 km hike)

Smokers Trail (15 km hike)

Kambah Pool to Point Hut Crossing (10 km hike)

Rendezvous Creek - lots of interesting tracks from wild pigs to kangaroos and rabbits. Fresh water so you only need to boil it or bring tablets or filter. You can make it an easy hike for young scouts or go further.

Clear Creek Campground - a nice place to go for a relaxed camp and do dayhikes or a moonlit hike. We walked to the old hut.

Frank and Jack's Hut - the hut is only to be used in emergencies for sleeping, so we pitched our tents outside. It rained on and off and we spent some time inside. The water tank was full of fresh water.

Jamboree on the Trail

Jamboree on the Trail (or JOTT) is a co-ordinated event where Scouts around the world simultaneously participate in local hikes. It takes place in May every year. There is a special badge for JOTT which goes on your camp blanket. It doesn't have to be a long hike, and you might combine it with some service to the environment eg cleaning up an area.
